Red Ribbon Week

Last week was Red Ribbon Week. We talked about how our bodies are special, and God wants us to take care of our bodies. We brainstormed things that we can do to be healthy. Students wrote a promise about what they will do to keep their bodies healthy. May God bless our students! 💓

Nouns

This week we had fun learning about nouns. We listened to this song about nouns on YouTube. The students had fun singing it. They were even able to come up with some of their own nouns during the week.

Fall Fun!

We were very busy this week working on fall projects. We brainstormed for our "Fall Fun" writing. Students talked about activities they like to do in the fall. They chose an activity and wrote about it. These writings are up on lockers now. I love that each student had something special to write about. Students also had fun creating a pumpkin person. Check out the pictures below to see if you can spot your child's. We had a fun week. I hope you all have had a terrific weekend. God Bless!

It gives me great pleasure to introduce our current read aloud. At this time, we are reading Socks, by Beverly Cleary. As a child, I loved to read. Now as an educator, I get to share my love of reading by sharing classics like this with your children. The students are very excited about this book. In fact, they ask me during the course of the day to read the book. Please be sure to ask your child about the characters and events of the story. I hope you are all having a great weekend! Go Bills!

Johnny Appleseed

Our class learned about Johnny Appleseed this week. We read this story about him. Do you know what Johnny Appleseed's real name was? Be sure to ask your child what they learned about him this week.

Have a fantastic weekend!

We All Are Special!

This week, we talked about what made each of us special. It was so good to hear everyone share what makes them special. Yesterday, we brainstormed for ideas that made us each special. Each student wrote about this and drew a picture to go with it. These beautiful writings are hanging in the hallway on lockers now. You may wish to ask your child about what makes them special. You may be surprised at what you hear. Have a blessed weekend!

Happy Friday! We had a great first week in first grade. Our class did a lot of fun things this week. I thought I would share our "All About Me" projects. We did these on the first day. The students had a lot of fun doing these. Rest assured, they will bring these home. The students did bring his/her crayon project home today. We read The Crayon Box that Talked, by Shane DeRolf. You may wish to ask your child about this story. We learned a great lesson from it.

I hope you all have a restful weekend. Thank you for all you do! God Bless!
